Who can forget the endearing character of No-Face from the Studio Ghibli classic Spirited Away? Among his most memorable lines are “ah… ah…” and “aaaah!” OK, maybe not a font of eloquence, but he’s as good as a mascot for the movie.
No-Face is an interesting character, because he mirrors off everyone around him instead of having a personality of his own. He wants to please, but he can’t help but act as a fun-house mirror, magnifying the traits of those he encounters. If he is shown negative traits, he turns into a monster. He’s a walking Zen lesson.
